In Norway, we don’t just wear wool. We live in it. These pieces are designed to be heirlooms passed down from sibling to sibling, surviving years of Ottawa winters. But the secret to wool that lasts a decade lies in the ritual of care.
By choosing organic lanolin and gentle cleansers, you aren't just washing a garment. You are nourishing the fibers and maintaining the natural magic of the fleece.
Lanolin is the natural wax found in sheep's wool that keeps the animal dry and warm. During the cleaning process, some of this magic is lost. By lanolizing your Disana woolens, you are essentially "resetting" the fibers.
It restores the wool's ability to repel moisture and neutralize odors, meaning you can spend more time playing in the snow and less time doing laundry.
When the Ottawa humidity hits and the wool goes into hibernation, storage is key. We believe in non-toxic preservation that respects your home and the earth. Always ensure your wool is completely clean and dry before storing.
Moths and beetles love natural fibers as much as we do. We recommend airtight bins or cotton bags with cedar blocks or lavender sachets. This creates a natural shield that deters tiny visitors without the use of harsh chemicals.

Veronica's Tip for Storage
Before storing wool for the season, always wash it first. Moths and insects are attracted to trace oils and food remains. Store in a sealed container with a small bag of lavender—it smells lovely to us, but moths hate it!
