Sizing & Care
Our wool pieces are designed to last through years of play and multiple children. Because European sizing and organic wool care are unique, we’ve created this guide to help you choose the perfect fit and keep your wool beautiful for generations.
Finding the Right Fit
European sizes are based on your child's height in centimeters. When in doubt, we always recommend sizing up—wool cuffs can be rolled, and it allows more room for "growing room."
| EU Size (Height) | Approx. Age | North American Size |
|---|---|---|
| 50/56 cm | 0-3 Months | Newborn / 3M |
| 62/68 cm | 3-6 Months | 6M |
| 74/80 cm | 6-12 Months | 12M |
| 86/92 cm | 12-24 Months | 18-24M |
| 98/104 cm | 2-3 Years | 2T/3T |
| 110/116 cm | 4-5 Years | 4T/5 |
Caring for Your Wool
Air it Out
Wool is self-cleaning! Often, a simple airing out overnight is all it needs to stay fresh. You rarely need to wash it.
Hand Wash Only
If washing is necessary, use lukewarm water and a specialized wool shampoo. Avoid rubbing or wringing the fabric.
Dry Flat
Never use a dryer. Gently press out excess water with a towel and lay the garment flat on a drying rack in the shade.
Lanolin Care
For boiled wool jackets and covers, a lanolin treatment once a season helps maintain their water-repellent qualities.
Veronica’s Tip for Ottawa Winters
"In our family, we use the two-season rule. I buy Disana overalls one size larger than needed. We roll the cuffs the first winter, and by the second winter, they fit perfectly. It’s the best way to make these heirloom pieces last longer!"
