Nature’s Answer to Tough Stains
Adventures are meant to be messy! Whether it’s a splash of mud on an Adventure Suit or a berry stain on an Heirloom Blanket, our Ox-Gall Soap is the traditional, natural solution for targeted stain removal.
Used for generations in Europe, this soap is particularly effective on protein-based and grease stains. It’s powerful enough to lift the mess but gentle enough to preserve the natural lanolin and strength of organic wool fibers. It is the perfect partner for your Wool Rescue Care to ensure your Disana pieces truly last a lifetime.
Why we love it:
- Targeted Treatment: Perfect for spot-cleaning so you don't have to wash the entire garment.
- Clean & Biodegradable: No harsh synthetic chemicals or artificial fragrances.
- Wool-Safe: Specifically recommended by Disana for maintaining the integrity of boiled and knitted wool.
How to use: Damp the stained area, rub a small amount of soap directly onto the spot with your finger or a soft cloth, let it sit for a few minutes, and rinse with cool water.

Why Disana Organic Wool? ▾
Disana has mastered the art of organic wool for over 40 years. Using GOTS-certified organic virgin wool, they create "Boiled Wool" that is naturally windproof, water-repellent, and incredibly sturdy for outdoor play.
Highest ecological standard. Pure virgin wool from organic livestock, free from harmful chemicals and pesticides.
The traditional "Walk" (boiling) process creates tiny air chambers, making the fabric windproof and resistant to light rain.
Contains natural wool wax (lanolin) which neutralizes odors and keeps moisture on the surface. Dirt can simply be brushed off.
Unlike Superwash wool, Disana keeps the wool scales intact, preserving the fiber’s natural strength and warmth.
The Lanolin Secret: Disana wool rarely needs washing. The natural lanolin reacts with moisture to "self-clean." If it gets muddy in Ottawa's slush, let it dry and simply brush the dirt away. Only wash when absolutely necessary with a pH-neutral wool shampoo.
There is something so special about Disana’s organic wool. It’s heirloom quality. The kind of pieces you pass down from one sibling to the next. It’s exactly the standard of 'clean' I wanted for my own five children.
