Why Esencia - Pure Alpaca?

Esencia crafted pure alpaca wool is nature's most luxurious insulator. Naturally lanolin-free, silky, and feather-light, alpaca offers superior thermal warmth without itching or irritating even the most delicate skin.

Hypoallergenic & Lanolin-Free

Lanolin-free fibers eliminate skin irritation, making it perfectly safe for newborns and sensitive skin.

Hollow-Fiber Insulation

Microscopic air pockets trap heat naturally, offering incredible thermal warmth while remaining lightweight.

Self-Cleansing & Repellent

Naturally repels water, dirt, and odor. Simply air out your garment to refresh it effortlessly.

Heirloom Durability

Higher tensile strength than traditional wool yields minimal pilling and heirloom longevity.

❄️

The Ottawa Refresh: Skip frequent washing. Lay your alpaca garment flat on a clean bed of snow or air it outdoors on a dry, crisp day to naturally lift dust and restore shape.

Esencia Denmark Size Guide View Chart ▼

Esencia uses age-based children's sizing. For the best fit, we recommend choosing based on your child's current height and using age only as a general reference. If your child is between sizes, we recommend sizing up for comfortable wear and longer use.

Esencia Size Approx. Height Approx. Age
0–3 M 50–62 cm Newborn–3 Months
6 M 62–68 cm 3–6 Months
12 M 68–80 cm 6–12 Months
1–2 Y 80–92 cm 1–2 Years
3–4 Y 92–104 cm 3–4 Years
5–6 Y 104–116 cm 5–6 Years
Esencia Sizing Tip: For alpaca layers, allow a little room for movement and layering. If your child is between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size for a comfortable fit and longer wear.

Please note: Age and height ranges are general guidance. Fit may vary slightly by garment style and your child's proportions.

Traditional Free-Roaming & Sourcing

In general, alpaca and llama yarns from Bolivia do not carry formal organic certification. Alpacas and llamas roam freely across vast open highland pastures in the Andes, grazing naturally without fences or intensive farming techniques—a traditional lifestyle unchanged for centuries.

Our raw fibers are sourced through a cooperative mill in El Alto, Bolivia, directly supporting local highland farmers and traditional artisan knitters. Because organic certification does not currently exist for Bolivian alpaca yarn and would impose a heavy financial burden on these local families, we prioritize direct ethical partnership, animal welfare, and natural fiber purity over formal labels.
